🌿 STEPS TO SKIN CARE: The Modern Glow-Up Ritual for Beautiful Skin

A simple, intentional guide to daily and weekly skincare—designed for a radiant year ahead.

Refer to our skincare steps page on the 411 section of our website for easy steps too!

A true glow up isn’t rushed. And it isn’t about fighting time. We’re moving beyond the idea of “anti-aging” and toward something more meaningful: supporting skin as it evolves, strengthening it through consistency, and cultivating radiance that feels grounded and real.

Lasting beauty comes from thoughtful care, daily nourishment, and rituals that honor skin over time—rather than pushing it to perform overnight. By returning to simple, intentional practices, you cultivate your most elevated look—one rooted in confidence, vitality, and ease. A glow up is built through steady care, mindful layering, and moments of pause woven into your routine. These steps create a ritual that supports radiance now—and beautifully into the years ahead.

Glow isn’t about reversing time—it’s about supporting skin as it evolves.

🌿 STEP 1: EXFOLIATE (2–3× WEEKLY):

Renew the skin’s surface and awaken luminosity—this is where the glow up begins.

Micro-Ritual:
Golden and Luminous Scrubs are plant-forward physical exfoliators with a mild acid component. Massage gently onto damp skin using slow, circular motions. Best enjoyed in the shower, where warmth and steam soften skin and allow for an effortless rinse.

Lactic acid masks glide on smoothly and feel refreshingly tingly as acids, enzymes, and herbs begin their work. Apply to clean skin, allow to rest as directed, then rinse thoroughly at the sink or in the shower using a soft washcloth or sponge.

Best Timing:
Evening exfoliation supports overnight renewal and allows skin to fully receive serums—setting the stage for brighter days ahead.

🧼 STEP 2: CLEANSE (DAILY):

Clear away buildup and begin each routine with intention.

Micro-Ritual:
Massage cleanser onto damp skin using gentle, upward motions with a washcloth or face sponge. Let the warmth of water soften the skin as you cleanse, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry. On exfoliation days, cleansing is naturally incorporated into that ritual.

Best Timing:
Morning to refresh and awaken. Evening to release the day.

💧 STEP 3: TONE (AM & PM):

Complete cleansing, restore balance, and prepare skin for hydration.

Micro-Ritual:
Awaken the inner senses with our Neroli & Sea Kelp Transform Toner, or open and soften with the Rose Nourishing Toner. Apply with a cotton pad or mist directly onto skin, sweeping across face, neck, and décolleté. This step reconnects skin to moisture—an essential part of long-term radiance.

Best Timing: Morning, night, or anytime skin needs recalibration.

👁️ STEP 4: EYE AREA :

Support the delicate skin around the eyes.

Micro-Ritual:
Apply toner, eye serum, or eye gel using your ring finger. Gently tap around the orbital bone—never pull or drag. Think light pressure, slow rhythm, and intention.

Best Timing:
Morning and night, before serums.

🌫️ STEP 5: HYDRATING MIST:

Create a hydrated canvas for treatment layers.

Micro-Ritual:
Mist evenly over face and neck with our Gemstone & Stem Cell–Infused Awaken Mist or Neroli & Cardamom Mist both offer grounding, mind brightening aromatics and lightweight hydration, reminding skin that glow thrives in moisture, not intensity. Skin should feel lightly damp before applying serums.

Best Timing:
After toning, between layers, or anytime skin feels dry.

✨ STEP 6: SERUMS (AM & PM):

Deliver targeted, nutrient-rich support.

Micro-Ritual:
Our favorite way to glow is using serums in duos.

Begin with a water-activated serum—such as the Stem Cell Hydrating Serum or Peptide Day Serum then layer with an oil-activated serum like Radiance, Transform, or Luminosity serums. Or, mix the water and oil activated serums, 50/50, in the palm of your hand and apply with smooth, upward strokes over face and neck, as one step (Julie’s favorite).

Best Timing:
Morning and night.

🧴 STEP 7: CREAM:

Seal in hydration, nourish the skin, and add protective comfort.

Micro-Ritual:
Choose from our Antioxidant, Nourishing or Balancing creams for richer hydration or lighter day formulas with peptides and stem cells for breathable hydration like our Luminosity or Radiance cream.

Creams seal in the benefits of serums while offering nourishment of their own.

Best Timing:
Morning and night.

😴 STEP 8: HYDRATING MASK (AS NEEDED):

Our Helichrysum & Green Tea Radiant Mask offers deep hydration and restoration.

Micro-Ritual:
On mask nights, skip serums and creams. Apply a light, even layer as your final step and leave on overnight. Wake to skin that feels deeply hydrated, rested, and renewed.

Best Timing:
Evening, especially when skin feels dry or depleted.

👄 STEP 9: LIPS:

Maintain softness, hydration, and fullness.

Micro-Ritual:
Exfoliate lips with our ultra-hydrating Amber Gemstone Lip Dazzle Scrub. Apply Peptide Perky Lips serum or one of our GEM • FLOWER Lip serums morning and night. Use a lip mask as the final step in the evening for overnight nourishment.

Best Timing:
Daily care, with deeper hydration at night.

🌞 STEP 10: SUNSCREEN (AM ONLY):

Protect and preserve your glow.

Micro-Ritual:
Apply generously as the final step of your morning routine. Remember to only use formulas with physical blockers (like our featured Tizo line of sunscreen), no chemical blockers. Lightly apply evenly over face, neck, and exposed skin.

Best Timing:
Every morning.

  • What is Herbal Skin Care?

In herbal medicine, we believe in using the entire plant, as nature created it, so that all of its components are allowed to work synergistically together. Because we as organisms are so tied to the botanical world, our cells most easily recognize plants in their natural state. The more we leave plants in their whole, unadulterated form, the better our bodies can recognize and absorb their benefits.
